“ Great friendly place. I am a total stranger in town. Was road weary, took a nap at a nearby motel in the afternoon then dropped in about 7 pm. I was treated wonderfully even though I didn't drink.Great Americana music. Wonderful experience after having had some challenging life changing events. Thank you!!! Great place. Great people. ”
“ Always a good crowd of friendly people at 1171 I enjoy shooting pool and the camaraderie you can order something to eat from the restaurant Pappa Cibos and it'll be there in just a short time and it's all ways delicious. . Wonderful Bar Maides and always smiling . Very clean bath room and a verity of entertaining music for everyone's choosing. A must see . Don't miss out ”

“ I don't normally go to bars. I have been to this establishment 3 times since Christmas. Always have an absolute blast! Every time I call it quits, some cutey will buy me a drink! Share a bunch of laughs and even the occasional drunk hug from a random stranger (much needed AND appreciated ) Cool crowd, the drinks are random, but enough will get you there. Them tunes be bump BUMPING too! ”
“ 1171 bar (known locally as gators) as well is a cool, down to earth bar. I’ve been a few times. Highlights: juke box is cool where patrons are able to pay to play their favorite tunes; opportunities to shoot pool, and converse with buddies inside or outside the venue. Drinks aren’t amazing but they do the job. I’ll have a drink normally (and a bag of chips). The staff is friendly. Parking is not limited (plenty). ”
“ Bay Area, California girl, a long ass way from home. My dude is a trucker, we're both from Cali, but based out of Dallas, Texas. Decided we didn't want to stay at the terminal, so we took a Lyft from Applebee's to this dope ass dive bar. No food, only drinks and a total vibe! I'm hella impressed! Clearly all locals, but definitely worth the 6 ride up here. Pool and good energy. Came on a Wednesday, DJ, was playing all the jams with the videos. Cool diverse crowd, and again, excellent energy. I lived in Fayetteville and Charlotte for a little bit, so this is my 1st time in Rocky Mount. This was the perfect evening and I would definitely return and recommend to anyone passing through. 5 stars "Gators"!!! ”
